Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

How Much Does Therapy Cost?

Our fees vary depending on the therapist and type of service provided. Individual therapy sessions typically start at $150 for a 50-minute session. Fees for equine-assisted psychotherapy begin at $200 per 50-minute session to accommodate the additional costs of the facility, assistants, and equine co-therapists.

Fee discussions are an ongoing part of the therapeutic process. Our goal is to collaborate with clients to ensure that therapy remains accessible, even in times of financial hardship. If unexpected financial challenges arise, we are committed to working together to find a feasible solution that avoids disruption in treatment. It is a core value of our practice to reduce barriers to mental health care and make quality therapy more accessible.

Do You Accept Insurance?

We do not bill insurance companies directly. It is your responsibility to discuss out-of-network coverage with your insurance provider. Upon request, we can provide a statement at the end of the month marked "PAID," which you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Please be aware that using insurance for psychotherapy may limit confidentiality. Typically, insurance companies require details such as the length of illness, psychiatric diagnosis, dates of service, and the names of individuals receiving treatment. In some cases, they may also request additional information, including treatment goals, session details, and provider treatment notes. Additionally, many insurance providers require signed waivers that allow them to audit client records. If you choose to use insurance benefits, it is important to understand that your privacy may not be fully protected.

How Long Does Therapy Last?

Therapy continues for as long as it remains beneficial and effective for you. Building a strong therapeutic relationship takes time, and many clients choose to engage in longer-term work. While therapy may begin with a focus on a specific issue or crisis, it often evolves into deeper psychological exploration over time.

It is common for clients to experience moments of feeling "stuck" or "lost" during therapy. We encourage open conversations about these feelings, as they are a natural part of the therapeutic process. Addressing them together helps normalize changes in the therapeutic relationship and fosters deeper growth and self-awareness.

Where are you located?

Virtual sessions are provided via a secure telehealth platform in the comfort of your own home (or car, or park, or wherever you can safely and privately meet), while equine-assisted sessions take place at a private facility in Corbett, OR.
